Post Creek Mitigation Wetlands

Watershed Consulting worked with Morrison-Maierle, Inc. to assist MDT with emergency mitigation services on Post Creek in Ronan, MT. Due to unexpected Artesian spring discharge from test borings for new bridge footings, Watershed was tasked with designing and constructing a flow-through wetland to minimize disturbance from runoff and sediment transport. Our team performed a site assessment and generated CAD drawings to represent the designed sediment retention structures, sinuous flow paths, and native wetland plantings. Watershed performed mitigation monitoring of this site to track revegetation success, noxious weeds, water quality, and wetland function for one year post-construction.
